There are now 2 Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) in Kota Kinabalu, one at Suria Sabah in town, and the other at 1Borneo Hyper Mall about 7km from the city centre.
GSC Suria features 8 screens with a total seating capacity of 1,465 people. Cinema 6 is a 3D capable cinema equipped with a Dolby 3D System and Glasses.
GSC 1Borneo also has 8 screens, but a seating capacity of 1,500 people.
Tickets are RM6 on discounted Wednesdays, RM7 before 6pm or RM8 after 6pm on weekdays, and RM9 from 6pm on Fridays until Sunday and public holidays.
Confectionery at GSC are on average the most expensive at cinemas in Kota Kinabalu, with a Super Combo (2x 750ml drinks and a large popcorn) costing RM8.50, or RM9.50 if you want iced lemon tea instead of a soft drink).
The GSCs in Kota Kinabalu are notoriously cold, so you would be well advised to take along something warm like a scarf or long sleeve top.
