Sabah Ultimate Frisbee

Flying saucers discs are frequently spotted in Kota Kinabalu, but these close encounters are of the Ultimate kind.

For the last couple of years the friendly, non-contact, unrefereed game of Ultimate has been steadily growing on the fields and beaches of KK, thanks to a group of Ultimate players in Sabah.

The game, sometimes wrongly referred to as Frisbee, is played on week-day evenings on the beach at First Beach, Tanjung Aru, and on the field next to the airport’s Terminal 2 on weekends.

Ultimate is a game of running, jumping and chasing after the fast-flying Ultimate disc and is safe, healthy fun for guys and girls of all ages. I won’t lie and say all levels of fitness, but after the huffing and puffing of your first session, the second session is a little easier.

Everybody is welcome to join Sabah Ultimate, even if you’ve never heard of it, let alone thrown a disc. KK’s Ultimate players are a caring bunch and love introducing new people to the game.
