Grand Illusions offers a surreal, immersive experience of fun illusions for all ages in Kota Kinabalu.
Set in a transformed, double-storey house, the Grand Illusions presmises is slightly on the outskirts of Kota Kinabalu.
Judging Grand Illusions from the outside it’s tempting to think it will be a short journey, but this is part of the illusion. The whole trip takes 40 – 60 minutes and once completed you wonder how everything happened inside the one house.
The Grand Illusions experience starts and ends in the lobby, which also provides an introduction to illusions, and refreshments and a souvenir corner for mementos of this otherworldly experience.
A guide makes sure nobody gets lost between parallel universes in the maze, which can become quite confusing, especially the first room where it’s easy to get lost, never to be found again.
While travelling through Grand Illusions there is a bridge to cross that spans a room with no roof or floor, an infinite staircase to climb, an incredible shrinking room, a machine that will make your hair stand on end, a rolling lava tunnel, an optical illusions museum. To end it all, a room where your shadow gets detached from your body (you can buy it back in the souvenir shop).
