Sabah Art Gallery encourages creative local artists, and some foreign artists, to exhibit their artworks to the public.
Established in 1984, the Sabah Art Gallery is a state-run art gallery under the overview of the Sabah Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, administrated by the Sabah Cultural Board.
Sabah Art Gallery is tasked with collecting, storing, preserving, interpreting and exhibiting both local and foreign works of art, so as to improve the quality and appreciation of art in the state.
With over 3,000 art pieces in their collection, Sabah Art Gallery runs frequent activities and exhibitions.
Sabah Art Gallery is open from 9am – 5pm, Monday to Sunday.
Entry fees are RM3 for Malaysians, RM10 for non-Malaysians and discounts for kids and students.
It’s located next ot Luyang Perdana, which is near Taman Rimba, a 15 minute walk from Sabah Museum / Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Orange public buses to Penampang / Donggong plies this route for about RM1 from Kota Kinabalu.
