Continuing our review of all the donuts on the menu at Big Apple Donuts in KK, we move on the next selection of six donuts.

Big Apple Donuts & Coffee’s Say Cheese DonutSay Cheese

This donut features pure, unadulterated, grated cheese.”Yuck!” was a reaction heard amongst some of sabahbah.com’s test panel, from quarters that love their cheese no less, but couldn’t stomach it on a donut. However, another part of the panel, who incidentally also love chocolate chip cookies and cheese, thought that this was a truly unique donut. Fresh cheese atop a donut might seem a little weird, but one bite could just open a new world of flavour to you.

Big Apple Donuts & Coffee’s Go Nutz DonutGo Nutz

Soaked in jam and covered with peanuts. Perhaps a variation of a peanut-butter-and-jam sandwich, but this was of the tastier donuts that our test panel tried. The sweet of the jam is well balanced with a tinge of savoury from the peanut bits and make for an overall delicious donut experience. The only caveat is the trail of peanut bits left between your teeth, so it’s best to save this donut for a night out with friends and not a love interest you’re trying to impress.

Big Apple Donuts & Coffee’s Bananarama DonutBananarama

A creamy banana-flavoured filling in the donut centre, surrounded by a wall of sweet chocolate. Seduction for the banana lover is presented in this donut. If you like chocolate and you like banana, then you will quickly make friends with Bananarama. And it doesn’t taste as rich as it sounds either, which is thanks to the very light donut base. One of Big Apple Donuts’ masterpieces.

Big Apple Donuts & Coffee’s Green Teazer DonutGreen Teaser

The sabahbah.com test panel approached this green tea-flavoured donut with more than just a teaspoon of apprehension, as our previous encounters with green tea-flavoured products have left us scarred. From the taste of this donut, it has now been proven beyond any remaining doubt, that the only things that work with a green tea flavour is green tea itself, and, on occasion, ice cream. Anything else with a green tea flavour should be avoided, including this donut. Of course, if you drink sugar in your green tea, you might disagree with us.

Big Apple Donuts & Coffee’s Chocoholic DonutChocoholic

Chocolate on the outside, and even more chocolate on the inside. Sounds like an overdose of chocolate? It is, and isn’t it wonderful? A firm favourite, in fact, the favourite donut in Big Apple Donuts’ line-up, Chocoholic as a name is spot on. If you’re into your chocolate, you can’t miss this donut. And unlike what it sounds, the chocolate tastes pure. The outside is slightly creamy, complementing the inside, which is pure molten chocolate. Chocolate heaven can’t be much different.

Big Apple Donuts & Coffee’s Iceberg DonutIceberg

Covered with a fine dust of sugar that melts in your mouth and leaves nothing but a slightly sweet tingle, the surprise is in the centre. Stuffed with a creamy, vanilla filling, what you see on the outside is merely the tip of the… Iceberg. A taste sensation, if a little on the sweet side, the donut appeals to fans of vanilla. A word of caution, don’t inhale while you’re biting this one.
