21 June 1879 saw the establishment of Sandakan, and this year is the second celebration of this historical day.

One of the main highlights on the tourism calendar, this annual Chinese dragon boat festival attracts participants from Australia, China, Japan, Burnei and elsewhere.

The Kadasandusun, Sabah’s largest ethnic group, and Murut celebrating the harvest season. In this annual event, giving thanks for a bountiful harvest of the main staple, rice. A huge gather at the KDCA, or Kadazandusun Cultural Association, it is a carnival of note. Here the ultimate Harvest Beauty Queen and Singing Champion will be crowned.

The Sabah Chapter, officially sanctioned by Harley Owners Group International, holds their annual rally attracting local owners and an international crowd from as far away as Japan, Sweden, England and the USA.

In conjunction with Harvest Festival season, this regatta attracts boating enthusiast from across the region to share in the happy event, organised by the Kinabalu Yacht Club.
