The regional version of the Kadazandusun Harvest Festival celebrated in Sandakan by everyone, regardless of race. This festival also sees the crowning of the Beauty Queen and Singing Champion of the festival that will participate in the big event come 31 May.

Launching from Sutera Harbour Marina & Country Club, the actual tournament will take place in a 20mile radius off the nearby island of Mengalum.
Sabah Anglers Association organises this annual event which is sponsored by Sabah Tourism. Fishing enthusiasts from around the region flock to participate.
Governed by the International Game Fishing Association (IGFA), the Sabah International Fishing Tournament abide by their rules and promote the sport, whilst at the same time creating awareness of Sabah’s rich marine resources and the need to protect it.
This 3-day event is the single most important celebration of the year. The traditional Kaamatan Festival is a colourful festival and involves, amongst other big events, the city-level crowning of the Unduk Ngadau (Harvest Beauty Queen) and Sungdoi (Kadazan Idol). Featuring culture, traditions, singing, dancing and traditional alcoholic beverages.
