Description
The Borneo Bird Festival attracts ornithologists from near and far who usually flock to the Rainforest Discovery Centre in Sandakan, to celebrate Borneo’s bird species.

The aim of the Borneo Bird Festival is to raise awareness of the over 568 bird species to be found in Sabah, 4 of which are found nowhere else in the world, and why conservation and ecotourism is important.
It also promotes bird-watching in Sabah, which, although popular among an niche group of avid enthusiasts, is largely not known by public as an interesting activity.
Spread over 3 days, the Borneo Bird Festival usually offers various activities such as talks, guided bird walks, a bird race and a bird-watching competition.
