El Centro’s pub quiz is usually on a Wednesday, but on the 23rd and 30th of December it will be on a Tuesday, due to Christmas and New Year’s Eve falling on the usual Pub Quiz nights.
Every week, offering Kota Kinabalu’s only Pub Quiz, El Centro attracts a clamouring of clever people eager to clench victory with their superior trivia knowledge.
Not for nothing, a winning team wins another round of whatever they’re drinking. To level the playing field, each team can win the drinks only once per evening and after that bragging rights.
The quiz usually features 3 rounds of general knowledge questions. El Centro’s Pub Quiz attracts a diverse crowd of both age and nationalities, so a big effort is made to give questions universal appeal.
Entry to El Centro’s Wednesday Pub Quiz is free and all you need to enter is a clever (or not so) team name.
The real challenge is to get a seat, as on most quiz nights El Centro gets packed a good hour or so before the quiz starts at 20:30, as people arrive early to enjoy dinner before the quiz.
It is very possible to take part in the quiz while standing at the bar, the Good Wood or the Little Wood though.
