Beer. The nectar of the gods which for centuries have aided merrymaking at celebrations, whether there was a cause for celebration or not.
Firefly. Purveyors of beers such a Becks, Hoegaarden and Leffe and proponents of celebrations; those with cause and certainly those without.
Firefly is currently promoting just such merrymaking with their Century Challenge.
What is the Century Challenge, I hear you ask? The Century, as in 100, and Challenge, as is in ‘can you do it?’ is a competition of sorts to see who amongst us merrymakers can drink 100 shots of beer in 100 minutes at the rate of 1 per minute.
If you’re up for the challenge, then report to Firefly every Monday this November before 19:30 and sign yourself up for Firefly’s Century Challenge. By putting down RM 160 in entry fees, you will be committing yourself to the task ahead.
Should you complete the challenge, you will win yourself a cool RM 1,000. Yes, that’s 10 times a century, it’s millenium, if you want to sound clever.
But beer drinkers beware, it’s not just about guzzling what would be 3 litres of beer in 1 hour and 40 minutes. You will be disqualified before the end of the challenge (and forfeit your entry fees), should you:
Full bladder, full stomach or just plain intoxication causing you to lose the plot and miss out on taking a shot – these are your challengers, as there can be multiple winners each night, and thus you’re not in a race with your fellow drinkers.
But don’t do it on an empty stomach. Check out the grill part of Firefly Bar & Grill for some grub before you start, and check out the Bar part of Firefly Bar & Grill for what to do if you’re out early, or want to stay after.
Up for the challenge? See you on Monday night at Firefly’s Century Challenge.

Then see you there before 7:30pm. Last week they closed entries when they reached 21 people, so the earlier you get there, the better – I would suggest around 6pm or earlier.
