The IRB Borneo Sevens Rugby tournament returns to Kota Kinabalu again in September 2011 for a weekend packed with fast-paced 7 aside rugby action.
Brought to you by the International Rugby Board (IRB) & Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU), Kota Kinabalu hosts the IRB Borneo 7s yet again and will feature rugby teams from India, China, Korea, Hong Kong, Japan and not just Malaysia, but Sabah’s own local rugby players.
As the 4th stop on the IRB Asian Sevens Series after hard-fought rugby rounds in Shanghai, Subic and Brunei, up for grabs by the best rugby teams in Kota Kinabalu is the coveted Borneo Sevens title, as well as the overall championship title for the Asian Series.
A little extra is in store for rugby fans this year, with the sidelines featuring rugby clinics for school children, referee courses and even some musical entertainment by way of artistes from Malaysia’s popular Akademi Fantasia.
Whether or not you’re a rugby fan already, the IRB Borneo Sevens Rugby Tournament is great chance to get acquainted with the game of rugby and enjoy a weekend of quality rugby action.

Yup, we're rugby fans ourselves and get way too few opportunities to watch live games here in Sabah. We're planning a whole weekend of just watching live rugby games, one after the other. See you there!
