If you hear a thumping in the distance, it might well be your choice of new year’s celebrations, because as options for your goodbye-to-2009 party rolls in, one in particular isn’t rolling; it’s Stompin’.

Stompin’ Sabah is going to rock Kota Kinabalu to the rhythm of local and international tribal percussions. Billing itself as the ultimate Borneo music blast, Stompin’ Sabah promises the elements of urban tunes infused with unadulterated tribal rhythms; translation: one rockin’ New Year’s Eve party!

At Stompin’ Sabah you will experience the talents of local tribal troupes, deejays and international percussionists the likes of DJ Nas-T, DJ Lil’ John, WhitePercussionUnit, Monsopiad Tribal Village TroupeMalaysia, all from Malaysia, as well as Rhythm Masala from Singapore and Kadangyan from the Philippines.

Join the Stompin’ Sabah Carnival to get in the mood for Stompin’ with Malaysia’s very own illusionist Ezad, exotic Mascara Dancers, hot fire breathers, tribal face painters and much more.

Stompin’ Sabah Carnival
Date: 30 – 31 December 2009 from 11:00 – 21:00
Venue: Jesselton Point Boulevard

Come and join the Carnival for the sponsor’s booth activities, food & beverage stalls, fire eaters, street magic, dancers and tattoo painting. Doors open at 11am all through the day until 9pm on both 30 and 31 December!

Stompin’ Sabah New Year’s Eve Party
Date: 31 December 2009 from 21:00 – 02:00
Venue: Container Yard, Jesselton Point

This is the Stompin’ you’ve been waiting for. The Monsopiad Cultural Village Troupe starts the stompin’ at 9pm, followed by Singapore’s Rhythm Masala, Kadangyan from the Philippines, Project Pistol’s Drum Battle and White Percussion Unit taking you up to midnight.

Catch your breath during the fireworks display that will signal the arrival of 2010 and then button down the hatches for serious reveling with DJ Lil’ John until the party ends, or you fall over, which ever comes first.
