Borneo Beachouse is a quality backpackers lodge located near the airport’s Terminal 2 and the Tanjung Aru beach, which are 10 and 5 minutes walk respectively.
Unofficially known as Sabah Ultimate’s Frisbee Headquarters, Borneo Beachouse is also a short huck from both the Sunday afternoon field and the Tuesday and Thursday beach pickup sessions.
Ultimate aside, the Beahouse guys n gals can arrange almost every other fun activity in Sabah for you, diving to white water rafting to climbing Mt. Kinabalu.
Borneo Beachouse is based in 2 houses, each with a choice of dorm and private accommodations. Shared bathrooms remind you that you are at a backpackers, but such is the general level of comfort that many guests have compared Borneo Beachouse to a guest house.
Each house is equipped with a self-service kitchen, an a living room with satellite TV for when you feel like vegging out a bit. Free Wifi Internet access is available at the reception, an a PC workstation can be used for RM3 per hour.
6 Bed Dorm (with fan)
Similar to the 4 bed dormitory, the 6 bed dorm is roomier thanks to a larger room. It features an additional bunk-bed, is fan-cooled and has no attached bathroom. A cupboard for limited storage is provided.
8 Bed Dorm (with fan)
No surprises here when you discover the 8 bed dorm can in fact host up to 8 people. Yes, thanks to another bunk bed in a room larger than the previous category, 8 weary travelers at one time can rest their tired bodies in this room. A fan will keep you cool and the shared bathroom facilities will keep you clean.
Queen Bed (with our without air-con)
There are 5 rooms at Borneo Beachouse that feature queen beds, 4 of which are fan cooled and 1 with air-conditioning. The setup is simple, a comfortable queen bed in a room with cupboards for storage, with no attached bathroom. Single room privacy at backpackers prices.
Twin Bed (with or without aircon)
The remaining 5 rooms are similar to the queen bed rooms, except they are equipped with 2 single beds instead of 1 double bed. The inventory consists of 4 fan-cooled rooms and 1 air-conditioned room, all of which have shared facilities.
3 Person En-suite Family Room (with aircon)
The 3 person family room, located in Borneo Beachouse 2, features 1 queen-sized double bed and a single bed, easily accommodating up to 3 people. The room is air-conditioned and features en-suite facilities, making it a popular choice amongst couple or small groups.
4 Person En-suite Family Room (with aircon)
Easily Borneo Beachouse’s most popular choice, the 4 person en-suite family room is located in Bornea Beachouse 1. It’s air-conditioned, has an attached bathroom and is capable of accommodating 4 people. 1 queen sized double bed, and a bunk bed with 2 single beds makes this possible.
4 Bed Dorm (with fan or air-con)
As the name suggests, this room is a 4 bed dormitory with 2 bunk beds featuring 2 single sleepers each. Borneo Beachouse 1’s 4 bed dorm is air-conditioned, whilst Borneo Beachouse 2’s dorms are fan cooled. Each dorm has a cupboard for limited storage and shares the bathroom facilities. For a good night’s rest, the price is unbeatable
