Ang’s Hotel Restaurant isn’t really Ang’s Hotel Restaurant. It’s actually Fatt Kee Coffee Shop, but because it’s positioned underneath Ang’s Hotel, the signage makes it looks as if it is Ang’s Hotel Restaurant.
But never mind the name, what’s important is the food. So popular is the food at Fatt Kee Coffee Shop that it has a large following of regulars and that for dinner you sometimes have to queue (and then jostle for a table).
The restaurant does have an English menu (if you ask for it), but somehow tourist never order the good stuff. The good stuff is written in Chinese on the menu against the wall.
If you have nothing else, you must have the oyster sauce chicken wings, pork knuckle, fish head curry, Sabah veggie and a tofu-and-minced-pork dish.
Order the Asian way, dishes for the table, not per person, and share-share. Don’t miss the chicken wings.
