Sailors’ Cafe is a new restaurant in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, which recently opened its doors to the public in Millennium Plaza off Jalan Pintas.
A little off the tourist track, which is a good thing, Sailors Cafe ticks pretty much all the boxes on the list of a good restaurant experience.
As you enter Sailors Cafe, which is located on the 2nd floor of one of the blocks towards the back of Millennium Plaza, the quality materials from floor to roof combined with the detailed decor, immediately plunges you into an ambiance that holds the promise of something special.
The service staff are friendly and efficient, even when the Sailors’s Cafe runs at capacity.
The Sailors’ Cafe menu is a focused collection of the chef’s speciality dishes, but is varied enough to appeal to wide dining audience. Dishes include salads, pastas, lamb, chicken and beef dishes, kebabs, burritos and deserts, and is somewhat dynamic depending on what the chef finds in the market that morning.
The very reasonable prices on the menu might create an expectation of small portions, however, once the dishes start arriving, you realise the portions are very generous and that there’s great value for money to be found at the Sailors’ Cafe.

i couldn't remember the name, but it was in the meat & poultry section. I ordered lamb (3pcs of lamb + 2 slices of garlic bread served in 1 plate) = RM21.00 and my hubby ordered beef mix with local vege that was served with rice and an egg on top of the beef=RM21.00. But i understand that the beef & lamb are imported. we also ordered fries=RM7. we didn't ordered drinks, we just had water. altogether was RM49.00. it was very disappointing because the food was below our expectation (the taste just so-so) for that kind of price.
