Sandakan Wildlife Day Tour makes it possible to visit Sandakan for just a day to explore the wildlife sanctuaries dotting the outskirts of this east Sabah town.
Get picked up in the morning from either your hotel in Sandakan or from the Sandakan airport and spend the day on a guided tour visiting Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre, Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre and the Rainforest Discovery Centre.
Considered semi-wild, most of the inhabitants of these centres are temporary residents preparing for return to the wild. Minimum human contact and a bland, repetitive diet encourages the animals to fend for themselves and explore further away from feeding points.
The Sandakan Wildlife Day Tour is ideal if you’re spending a shorter time in Sabah, but would love to experience the east coast’s wild life, or as a warmup before heading to the wild of the Kinabatangan River, Turtle Island, Sipadan or beyond.
