The Tip of Borneo is the northern tip of the island of Borneo home to beautiful beaches and interesting cultural sights near Kudat town.
A Tip of Borneo Day Tour starts at 7:30am with a pickup from your hotel an a transfer to Simpang Mengayau, the local name for this area, to experience the beautiful headland surrounded by picturesque beaches.
After taking in the spectacular sights of the Tip of Borneo, it’s time for a dose of Rungus culture.
The Rungus is one of many ethnic groups in Sabah. A sub-group of Kadazandusuns, the Rungus are known as skilled artisans famous for their colourful, beaded necklaces and intricately woven baskets and cloth. During the Tip of Borneo Day Tour we’ll stop by the Bavanggazo Village to visit a Rungus Longhouse, a traditional dwelling where you will meet the Rungus and see their artistery firsthand.
The Tip of Borneo Day Tour also goes to Sumangkap Village, and entire community dedicated to producing gongs, an important music instrument used for various ceremonies and traditions throughout Sabah. Another claim to fame for this village is being home to the world’s largest gong.
Next is a visit to the Gombizau Honey Bee Farm for a Borneo bee farming experience and a chance to taste some Sabah honey.
The Tip of Borneo Day Tour concludes with arrival back in Kota Kinabalu at around 6pm.
