Kota Kinabalu is the capital city of Sabah, one of 2 Malaysian states on the island of Borneo, making up East Malaysia.

Formerly known as Jesselton, Kota Kinabalu lies on the west coast of Sabah adjacent to the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, which is easily accessible and offers many diving, hiking, beach and other nature opportunities.

Known as KK by locals and regular visitors, Kota Kinabalu is the gateway to the rest of Sabah’s treasures, but has plenty to offer in the way of food, an improving nightlife scene and decent activities to keep you busy too.
