The lineup for Comedy Bah’s next standup comedy show in Bar 35, KK Times Square features Gina Yashere, an import all the way from England.
Together with KL’s favourite single girl, Shamaine Othman, standup comedy this month in Kota Kinabalu is an all-women’s affair.
Shamaine has been part of the Malaysian standup comedy scene since 2011 when she took part in the Time Out KL Standup Comedy Thursdays, but has been in showbiz since age 7 as an actress for local TV Sitcoms.
With a Bachelors Degree in Performing Arts and a love for laughing, Shamaine hopes to be Malaysia’s next notable comedienne.
Headline act for January’s Comedy Bah in Kota Kinabalu, Gina Yashere is a sassy, award winning British comedienne with Nigerian roots, promising an award-winning standup comedy performance in Kota Kinabalu.
She’s been in TV and comedy in the UK in some shape or form since 1997 and then broke onto (into?) the American Comedy scene when she finished in the Top 10 on the standup comedy reality TV show, Last Comic Standing.
Controversial and in-your-face, Gina Yashere is sure to appeal to Sabahan audiences who are neither, but like to live vicariously.
