Escapee – Escape Room

1st Flr, Warisan Square (facing Marina Court), Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia

Description

Escapee in Kota Kinabalu is based on the international Escape Room phenomena; a real life, interactive puzzle game scenario played by 2 – 6 people.

It’s a simulated situation where you willingly get locked up in a room from which you have to escape. To escape, you solve various clues and puzzles found in the room. Some are obvious, others less so, but all will test your puzzle-solving and lateral thinking skills.

Escapee (what you are when you have escaped) has a branch in Warisan Square, 1Borneo and soon Imago.

Different levels of difficulty help you get in the correct frame of mind to escape successfully. The Jail Break escape room at Warisan Square is for novices, Time Travel escape room is for intermediates and the Circus escape room is for experienced players, each with increasingly more challenging puzzles.

The rooms aim to provide a totally immersive experience with decor, background noises and lighting to set the mood, making it feel much more than just a game. You have 60 minutes to escape from the rooms, and the visible clock ticking down adds an additional element of drama.

Successful escapees have their photos displayed below the room they’ve escaped from. The rest?

They go on the Wall of Shame.

Quite pricy for an hour’s worth of entertainment, prices vary according to the time of day, but regardless of time, there’s a different, higher price for tourists, which really is unjustifiable.
