Description
There are now 2 Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) in Kota Kinabalu; one at Suria Sabah in town, and the other at 1Borneo Hyper Mall about 7km from the city centre.
GSC Suria features 8 screens with a total seating capacity of 1,481 people. Cinemas 5 & 6 are 3D capable cinemas equipped with Dolby 3D Systems and glasses.
GSC 1Borneo also has 8 screens and a seating capacity of 1,504 people.
Ticket prices are up to RM13 depending on which movie, how new it is, whether it’s before or after 6pm, on a weekend or a public holiday and in a normal cinema or a “2D” cinema. On Movie Night, Wednesdays, tickets are slightly cheaper at RM9.
Whatever the price, there’s a RM5 surcharge for 3D shows.
The GSCs in Kota Kinabalu are notoriously cold, so you would be well advised to take along something warm like a scarf or long sleeve top.
