Asia’s next PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) is taking place right here in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.

PADI IDC is the PADI system of SCUBA diver education training for certified PADI Divemasters interested in training SCUBA divers in the classroom, confined water and open water.

This particular PADI Instructor Development Course in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah is a package of important SCUBA diver training qualifications you will need to qualify as a PADI SCUBA Diving Instructor.

This PADI IDC includes the PADI Assistant Instructor course (AI), the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor course (OWSI) and the Emergency First Response Instructor course (EFRI).

After successfully completing these 3 courses, you can sit for the PADI Instructor Examination (IE), which is conducted by PADI Instructor Examiners from PADI Asia Pacific, who fly to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah a few times per year specifically for PADI instructor exams.

You will be a certified PADI Open Water SCUBA Instructor upon successful completion of the PADI Instructor Exam.

Asia dive internship are also available and can be included with an SCUBA diving internship in Sabah, Malaysia too. Participants are accepted through application only so please contact us for more information on Asia’s next PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC).

What you will need to start the PADI IDC:

• prove Open Water, Advanced, Rescue and Divemaster certifications or equivalents;
• have been certified Open Water Diver for at least 6 months;
• First Aid & CPR trained within the last 24 months (PADI Emergency First Response is recommended);
• provide Diving Medical Statement signed by a physician (not older than 12 months);
• provide 60 logged open water scuba dives;
• prove deep, night & navigation diving experience;
• complete all 16 IDC Knowledge Reviews before the course starts;

Before the PADI Instructor Exam you must:

• complete the dive theory exams;
• complete the non-stop 800m mask, fins & snorkel swim;
• provide 100 logged Open Water SCUBA dives;
• get certified as a Emergency First Response Instructor
