Imago The Mall at KK Times Square is one of Kota Kinabalu’s largest shopping centres. It opened on 28 March 2015.Interesting about Imago shopping mall is the non-strata title of the shop lots, which SabahBah understands to mean that the mall owns all the shops. This is good news for shoppers for 2 reasons.

1st, because the mall management owns everything, there’s a high incentive to maintain the mall and not neglect the property like is the case with older malls in KK.

2nd, as an Imago rep explained in an earlier news article, owning everything “allows [them] to have complete control over the tenancy mix, facilities and amenities of the mall“. In theory this means the management can make sure there’s variety and quality, and get rid of shops that sell junk that doesn’t attract any shoppers.

That remains to be seen. What Imago is doing though, is setting the bar for shopping centers in Kota Kinabalu.
