Description
Karamunsing Shopping Centre is one of Kota Kinabalu’s oldest shopping centres. It tries to stay relevant with construction and renovations that has seemingly gone on for years.
Unfortunately these renovations eat into parking spaces, so while tenants traffic increases, parking decreases, leading to some pretty unpleasant traffic jams.
Inside Karamunsing Shopping Centre the situation is mirrored by an overcrowding of kiosks and displays creating narrow walkways where shoppers can only move in single file. You have to wonder what would happen in a situation where everybody has to get out in a hurry. The upper floors are slightly less packed.
Once you’ve fought your way through the traffic crawl and found a parking space, and then negotiated your way around retail obstacles allowed to litter walkways, you will discover Kota Kinabalu’s best IT and computer hub in Karamunsing Shopping Centre.
Spread out over the 4th, 3rd and, to a lesser extent, the 2nd floor, is a thorough collection of IT related stores selling everything from netbooks to notebooks, tablets to transmitters and every computer peripheral in-between.
Appliance and furniture stores abound on the ground and basement level, and hairdressers, eateries, and clothing shops make up the rest of tenant’s list.
