The 4×4 Borneo Safari and an annual event organised by the Kinabalu Four Wheel Drive Club.
The Kinabalu Four Wheel Drive Club was founded in 1988 by 2 enthusiasts who initially organised 4×4 outings amongst families and friends who wanted to escape the city during off days.
Soon it caught on and the club was officially registered as the Kinabalu Four Wheel Drive Club.
Ever since, the club has grown and now they are the organisers of the internationally renowned International Borneo Safari, which first took place in 1989.
The event attracts 4×4 enthusiasts from around the world who are keen on completing a unique 8-day, off-road expedition through the jungles of Borneo.
Participants of the safari moves through Sabah’s pristine rainforest, through wildlife corridors filled with exotic bird, animal and plant-life underlining the event’s message: Conservation in Adventure.
The ‘Borneo Safari’ is designed as a competitive expedition to produce the spirit of adventure, teamwork, driving skills, endurance and safety to bring out the very best in man and machine.
